HARARE – Zimbabwe’s national dam levels continue to rise on the backdrop
of heavy downpours that are being experienced across the country.
As of March 9, 2018 the national dam level average had risen to 81,7
percent.
Most dams in Manyame catchment are now full with the catchment having an
average dam level of 101 percent, Zimbabwe National Water Authority
(Zinwa) said in a report.
Zinwa said the dam level average for Mazowe Catchment now stood at 99,9
percent, Save Catchment 90,1 percent, Sanyati Catchment 100 percent and
Runde Catchment 67,8 percent.
Mzingwane Catchment is now 90,9 percent and Gwayi Catchment 91 percent,
Zinwa added.
“Mazvikadei Dam now 102 percent full, Manyame Dam 98, five percent, Seke
Dam 89,2 percent, Lake Chivero 104,2 percent, Harava Dam 100 percent,
Blockley 78 percent, Karoi 103,8 percent, Biri Dam 107,9 percent. Bangala
Dam is now 102,7 percent full, Tokwe-Mukosi 70,6 percent, Mutirikwi 46,5
percent, Manjirenji 89,6 percent, Tokwane 100,5 percent, Mbindangombe
100,4 percent, Muzhwi 102,7 percent. “
