VACANCIES EXIST IN A LEADING BEEF WHOLESALE COMPANY AS FOLLOWS:
Butchery Manager – Harare. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day management of 10 butcheries in the Central Business District of Harare. This is a senior position in the organization and will only suit a person with at least 5 years previous experience.
Essential skills include previous butchery experience, computer literacy, clean class 4 driving licence, and traceable references.
Abattoir Manager – Beitbridge. The successful applicant will be required to develop an existing abattoir to slaughter approx. 40 head every day to a high standard. The applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the abattoir including some knowledge of the bookkeeping side of the business, stock control, purchasing of cattle, and the control and motivation of a staff of approx. 20 people. The position includes free accommodation in a large comfortable house in the town, and remuneration will be based on the skill level of the applicant.
Essential skills include some previous cattle experience, computer literacy, organizational skills. Knowledge of English and Ndebele preferable, as is some previous abattoir experience.
Cattle Buyer – Bulawayo. The successful applicant will be based at the abattoir in Bulawayo, and be responsible for all aspects of the purchasing of the cattle for the abattoir. This will include daily liaison with transporters and producers, and responsibility for payments to all suppliers.
Essential skills include fluency in both English and Ndebele, some previous beef/cattle experience, and unquestionable integrity. Patience and an ability to deal with people from all walks of life a definite advantage.
