THE 74th annual Mashonaland West Agricultural Show opens tomorrow.

As of yesterday, preparations were almost complete.

Over 60 percent of stands have been booked.

The agriculture show runs for the second year under a Covid-19 environment.

On Monday, Show society manager, Mr Brian Vengai, said they were expecting to see 80 percent of space taken up as many exhibitors were still registering.

This year’s show runs under the theme, “Agricultural productivity persevering through a pandemic”.

The Ministry of Health and Child Care will provide a vaccination and testing booth at the main entrance to avoid the spread of Covid-19.

Strict health protocols will allow entry to those aged 17 and under, who do not require vaccination, although they will be subjected to screening and mandatory sanitising and face masking.

“The relaxation of the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions has aided this year’s event as it will run from 8 am to 7pm. Adults pay $3 and children $2,” he said.
