Commercial Farmers' Union of Zimbabwe
As the CFU, we offer labour advice to CFU member farmers as and when they require it. Sometimes interpreting the relevant laws that govern labour related matters can be difficult to do and cumbersome, so our role as the CFU will be to help our member farmers to interpret some of these laws. At times the labour law can be amended, and our role will be to alert our member farmers to the latest changes in labour law and what it entails. Some of the services we offer to CFU members include:
1. Drafting contracts of employment.
2. Drafting letters of termination of employment and memorandum of termination agreements.
3. Give updates of applicable wages in the different sub-sectors.
4. Drafting letters in response to queries by Trade Unions.
5. Giving guidance on the statutory payments that farmers/employers need to make to the relevant government departments.
6. Assist farmers solve labour related disputes that arise on the farm between the farmer and the employees.
7. Help interpret the provisions in the relevant legislation like the Labour Act, Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
8. Help farmers in calculating terminal benefits, severance package and gratuity.
9. Representing the interests of member farmers at the NEC Council, collective bargaining committees etc.
10. Lobbying for labour policies that benefit member farmers.
