All is set for this year’s Masvingo Provincial Agricultural Show that roars into life tomorrow, amid reports that all the exhibition space has been taken up.

The 99th edition of the provincial premier show, which ends on Sunday, will be held under the theme, “Unlocking Investment Potential for Economic Recovery”.

Masvingo Show Society president Mr Philip Mauto said this year’s show was likely to be oversubscribed given the overwhelming interest from new exhibitors

“All the allocated exhibition space has been taken up and we are ready for the four-day provincial premier show,” said Mr Mauto.

He said this year’s show was promising to be better, bigger and more exciting for both exhibitors and show goers.

“This year’s show has an improved package. We have invited lunar park from Bulawayo after a long time. The lunar park has already been set and a lot of entertainment activities are also lined up.

“We are going to have Andy Muridzo as the guest musician and he will be supported by a number of local musical groups which include Great Zimbabwe University Musical Group.

“We will also have displays from the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s cycle patrol section, the Zimbabwe National Army, Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services and Zimbabwe National Parks drills.”

“By today (yesterday) 129 companies had already occupied their stands and this is a phenomenal increase from last year’s 105 exhibitors. We have a number of new companies and parastatals like the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) and from the higher and tertiary education sector; Lupane State University from Bulawayo is exhibiting for the first time.”

He said the annual provincial agricultural show provided a platform for strategic business synergies and would be officially opened by a yet-to-be -identified guest of honour.

He said the newly appointed Mayor Councillor Collins Maboke and Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs Cde Ezra Chadzamira will also grace the prize-giving ceremony, where best exhibitors under different categories will receive prizes.
