Class Teachers (3 Posts)
Applicants must have the following qualifications and attributes:
v At least 5 years of Qualified Teacher Status with minimum professional qualification of Certificate or Diploma in Primary Education
v Competences in teaching from Grade 4 up to 7
v Proven experience and familiarity with educational practice in Independent Schools
v Skills and ability to teach and coach various Sports (to include swimming, hockey, tennis, or rugby, cricket and soccer)
v Ability to teach or guide children in expressive arts (music, drama, visual arts, dance) will be an added advantage
v Understand, identify with and contribute to the Ethos and Religious Values of the school
v Be I.T. Literate desirably with minimum ICDL though not mandatory
Successful candidates must be committed, dynamic, innovative and motivated educators who are child-centred, with strong interpersonal skills, and are able to work successfully within an established competent team and environment of dedicated professionals.
1. Music Teacher
The successful candidate will be a competent and dynamic musician of integrity and vision with strong organisational and interpersonal skills, and should:
v Have requisite academic and professional qualifications with a minimum Grade 6 ABRSM in Piano and one orchestral instrument
v Have experience in teaching Music at either Music Foundation Phase, Key Stages 1 – 4 or Primary level.
v Understand and Appreciate Western, Local and World Music Traditions
v Be able to work successfully as part of a team of established and competent Education professionals
The main duties will include:
v The teaching of Class Music to boys from Grade 4 – 7.
v The playing of the piano at Chapel, School Masses, Concerts, Assembly and special occasions.
v Directing the various Prep School Choirs
v Developing and co–ordinating the Hartmann House Music Curriculum programme
v Offering additional music tuition in the form of individual or group tuition
v Establishing and directing or co-ordinating various instrumental ensembles such as recorder, string, drum, marimba, guitar ensembles etc
v encouraging and promoting a passion for music amongst boys
