Hamish Chisholm Obituary
James Alexander Gordon Chisholm or Hamish as he was more popularly known has passed away in Kwara state Nigeria of a heart attack on the 9 April 2010.
Hamish was the son of Sandy and Cathy, born on the 5 September 1948 in Harare. He is survived by a loving wife Mary lou, proud father of James, Lee-Ann, Courtney, Julie and Tamzyn and doting Pops to his beautiful granddaughters Melina and Lillie-Mea.
Hamish is best known for his time at Blackfordby where he taught and helped many young men and Woman to farm. He loved teaching and was a natural in the lecture room, seeing the students through the course from the interviews through to diploma day. He interacted well with the students earning their respect and the nick name Topdog on account that he did not take any nonsense in his lectures or practical’s which a few students found out by ending on the wrong side of a black board duster or getting stumping duty for the weekend.
Hamish was a very meticulous man he knew the English name and Latin name of every tree, weed, grass and bug that could be found in southern Africa he will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
We the Chisholm and Oldrieve Family would like to thank Mike and Di Fields for helping Mary Lou through this tough time in Nigeria.
