Deirdre Swire-Thompson

A memorial service for the late Deirdre Swire-Thompson, much loved wife of Anthony, mother of Jeremy and Leigh Anne, Andrew and Jessica and grandmother of Kyle, Gemma, Nicholas and Sophie will be held at 2.30 pm on Monday 12 December at the Chisipite School Chapel.

After the service, the Swire-Thompson family invite friends and family to tea and refreshments at Ant and Dee’s home: 7 Brentford Road, Ballantyne Park. Please bring a plate of eats.

Thomas Longfield Bragge born May 1917 passed away in Hospital in Harare on the 4th December 2010 at the age of 93.
 
Tom will be sincerely missed by the whole family.
 
Tom was father to Trance, Gordi, Moi and Fi. Grandfather to Rodney, Graham, Louise, Gayle, Mike, Debbie, Lorna, Michelle, Mark, Michaela and Clive. Great Grandfather to Jordan, Renee, Nathan, Lilly, Sophie, Cody, Oscar, Naomi, Charlotte, Riley, Savanna and Brandon.
 
His Memorial will be held at 2.00pm on Wednesday 8th December at Highlands Presbyterian Church.

 Deidre, who died suddenly on Sunday 5th December,2010, was an active support to her husband during his service to the union in1992-1994 and will be remembered by many of us.

Memorial Service
 
There will be a private burial service for the late Kobus Joubert in Chegutu on Monday at 9am.
 
This will be followed by a Memorial Service which will be held at the Chegutu Dutch Reform Church at 10am. All are welcome to come and show their respects to the family.
 
The Church is situated on the corner of Alexander and Kennedy Streets in Chegutu. 
 
 
 
The directions to get there are:
 
Proceed along the Chegutu – Kadoma highway and turn left two streets before the aeroplane situated next to the road as you pass through Chegutu. The Church is on the left hand side of the road.

The President, Vice Presidents and Council of the Commercial Farmers’ Union have just received the very tragic news of the passing of Johannes Jacobus “Kobus” Joubert of Chegutu.
 
Police are currently investigating his death from a gunshot wound following what appeared to be an armed robbery in his home on his Stockdale Farm in the Chegutu District last night (25 October 2010). His wife Mariaan was also assaulted in the attack but she has received medical treatment and is still at home.
 
Kobus has been a very active and well respected member in Zimbabwe’s tobacco industry for most of his life being a past President of the ZTA. He has always been a great mentor to all who are involved in the industry in which he was so passionate.
 
We send our sincere condolences to his family on their tragic loss and may his dear soul rest in peace.
 
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Robin has been a very active and well respected member in Zimbabwe’s cattle industry for most of his life being mainly involved in Brahman cattle breeding through his well known stud and his chain of abattoirs and butcheries around the country. He has always been a great mentor to all who are involved in the industry in which he was so passionate.

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Jacobus Cornelius “Ornel” Wartington formally of Sonop Ranch, Mwenezi, in the Masvingo Province.
 
Ornel and his wife Ansie were savagely attacked during a robbery on the farm they had relocated to in de Aar district of South Africa on Saturday night. Ansie is now in a critical condition in hospital.
