LAND ACQUISITION ACT (CHAPTER 20:10)

Preliminary Notice to Compulsorily Acquire Land

Notice is hereby given, in terms of paragraph (a) of subsection (7) of section 5 of the Land Acquisition Act [Chapter 20:10], that the President intends to acquire compulsorily the land described in the Schedule for Urban Development. A plan of the land is available for inspection at the following office of the Ministry of Lands, and Rural Resettlement between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday other than on a public holiday on or before 16th April, 2010. 

a)       Block 2, Makombe Complex, cnr. Harare Street and Herbert Chitepo Avenue, Harare.  Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement, CF 119, Government Composite Block Robert Mugabe Way, Mutare;

b)       Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement, Office 146, Fourth Floor, Block H, Mhlahlandlela Government Complex, Bulawayo;

c)       Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement, M & W Building, corner Park/Link Street, Chinhoyi;

d)       Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement, First Floor, Founder House, The Green, Marondera;

e)       Ministry of Land and Rural Resettlement, 19, Hellet Street, Masvingo;

f)        Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement, Exchange Building, Main Street, Gwelo;

g)       Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement, Office No. F20, First Floor, Mtshabezi Building, Gwanda;

h)       Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement, Ndodahondo Building, Bindura. 

Any owner or occupier or any person who has an interest and right in the said land, and who

a)       Wishes to object to the proposed compulsory acquisition,.

b)       Wishes to claim compensation in terms of part V for the acquisition of the land. 

may lodge the same, in writing, with The Minister of Lands and Rural Resettlement, Private Bag 7779, Causeway, Harare, on or before 16 April, 2010.

 SCHEDULEDESCRIPTION OF LAND 

1.       Deed of Transfer 5816/85 registered in the name of Zimbabwe Tobacco Association, in respect of certain piece of land situate in the district of Salisbury, being The Remainder of the Farm Odar, measuring six hundred and five comma eight zero nine two (605,8092) hectares. 

2.       Deed of Transfer 4149/80, registered in the name of Jetmaster Properties (Private) Limited, in respect of certain piece of land situate in the district of Salisbury, being Nyarungu Estate, measuring one ninety three comma four zero five six (193,4056) hectares. 

3.       Deed of Transfer 5021/07, registered in the name of Pinnacle Holdings (Private) Limited, in respect of certain piece of land situate in the district of Salisbury, being Remainder of Subdivision A of Stoneridge, measuring five hundred and eighty-six comma eight nine six zero (586,8960) hectares.
