Mana Pools among top safaris in Africa

Mana Pools National Park has been adjudged as one of the top safaris in Africa, according to a latest ranking by an online resource that profiles safaris.

According to a survey by SafariBookings.com, Mana Pools was ranked fourth behind Serengeti National Park (Tanzania), MalaMala Game Reserve (South Africa) and Okavango Delta in Botswana.
In total, 138 parks from eight major safari countries were included in the study (Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe) for a place in the top 50.
Mana Pools had a rating of 4,75 out of 5. Hwange National Park was ranked 19th with a rating of 4,44. Matusadona National Park was 23rd, Gonarezhou National Park (41) and Matobo National Park (50).
The analysis was based on 3 008 park reviews collected through the SafariBookings website. Of them, 2 234 reviews were contributed by safari tourists from 63 countries around the world. The remaining 774 reviews were written by renowned industry experts, most of whom are guidebook authors working for Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, Frommer’s, Bradt and Footprint.
SafariBooking.com said only parks known for classic wildlife viewing safaris were considered.
Mana Pools is a Unesco world heritage site and located along the Zambezi River.
