This year’s edition of the Masvingo provincial agricultural show will be held between September 27 and 29 running under the theme “Unlocking Investment Potential for Economic Recovery”, an official has said.

The show, which had initially been set to run from August 2 to 5, was pushed to next month as a result of the harmonised elections.

Masvingo show society president Mr Phillip Mauto said there has been an overwhelming response form exhibitors. “The dates for this year’s Masvingo Agricultural Show have been released. We are going to have our provincial agricultural show from September 27 to 29,” said Mr Mauto.

He said the previous shows had attracted a lot of interest and chances were high that this year’s event would be a full house, given the competitive advantages that will accrue to participating organisations.

“Our main exhibitors are government departments, private companies and small scale farmers. We are looking forward to having many exhibitors. So far 50 percent of the exhibition space has been taken up. Most of the companies started registering in June.

“It is pleasing to note that several organisations have increased their market share, through such platforms and they now appreciate the competitive advantage of participating at such shows,” he said.

Mr Mauto said they have lined up lot of entertainment activities. These he said would include musical shows and displays by Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA), Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) among others.

He challenged local companies and individuals to take advantage of the platform to show case their wares before a huge audience.

According to Mr Mauto, such events (agriculture shows) presented business people with an opportunity to share notes and market their products.
